Tara McPherson is another artist who I first saw a few years and was the first one I tried to re-find when I start my criminal damage brief.
I haven't really concentrated on the background of an image before...it usually ends up being a flat colour because I think about it last, but Mcpherson's work shows - it doesn't have to be the most detailed, it just needs to be there to highlight the main image.
Once again, another thing I like about her illustration style is that its all proportional - not crazy, unrealistic and imaginative but at the same time its now super-realistic.
