Criminal damage existing swing tag...
This is quite an old criminal damage swing tag that I have kept because I liked the simplicity and print quality.
I want the tag that I produce to be more interactive but I think this is a good example of how simple can be effective...

Existing swing tags
This isn't a bag for a clothing label, its actually for eastpak bags but its an example of how much information can be put into a tag.
Its quite a big tag that might be too overpowering for a t-shirt but it still works well.

Dan Mumford
Dan Mumford...I haven't posted his work before, but I have been aware of it for a long time because on my foundation course...most people said they wanted work like his and I agreed but didn't want to seem like I was just saying it because everyone else was.
Now is the right time for me to site him as an inspiration because he really does produce work that I admire - I would say that I aspire to do work just like but that may be punching a bit above my weight!
The work shown below is displayed on t-shirts and album covers for bands such as A day to remember, Gallows and escape the fate.
I really like the fact that he does use some bright colours...but the image is still quite dark and the detail is just amazing.
He is most certainly an inspiration for my Criminal Damage brief.

WHJ3

I really like the realism or of WHJ3's work. It looks time consuming...but in instances like this its really worth it.
I especially like the first image, as its taken a popular image that most people would recognise...modernised it and added a 'twist'. I have already produced one kind of zombie images from my criminal damage brief, but now seeing this - I want to re-do it and make it look more realistic.

Munk One

Munk one is Amazing - however, its hard to find examples of their work that are big enough to put on my blog (when you look at them on their website, the images are Tiny).
Regardless of this - from the work that I can and have seen, I will Definately be taking inspiration from for my Criminal Damage brief as a lot of their work is apparel design for bands similar to those that wear Criminal damage.

Old Metal T-shirts

These were a few more metal tee's that I found that I liked - it just reiterates the common theme of skulls...and blood...and death.

Metalilca was another popular band that I noticed when looking at old metal tee's...
Once again, I like the typeface and again, skulls are a common theme.

Iron Maiden Tee's

In the information that I was sent from Criminal Damage - they mentioned that one of the things they were looking at and taking inspiration from was old metal tee's.
When searching through past examples, Iron Maiden was a popular one.
I really like Iron Maiden typeface - this is something I will work with.
Other aspects that are a strong theme through all the t-shirts are the layout of a circle with the image inside it...and skulls.
I also like the style of t-shirt that the print is on - I think its a baseball shirt? With the longer, coloured sleeves.

Rik Lee illustration

These drawings are sooooo good. They work So well as a set - I want them. I really like the idea that the basis of the image is the same - when you look at it, its clear that all 4 faces are the same - just by changing the hair, the colour, the hands and tattoos, it makes them all look different (obviously). Also the soft yet slightly textured colouring to the image makes them look so girly when in reality, they're a bit gross...and dead. I just really like these.
